Session 7 – Set smart money goals: Systems to hep you achieve your goals
1. Unplanned events fund
By creating an “unplanned events fund,” you’ll have money available for all those unexpected events in life that you can’t plan for. Things like an unexpected medical emergency, a faulty car transmission, disability, a sick child or other types of financial emergencies.
2. Six Months of Basic Living Expenses
Your second goal is to save 3 – 6 months of basic living expenses in case of a job loss or disability from work.
Do not to stress out because you don’t have six months’ worth of expenses right now. The steps in the FSBᴰ show you how you can work your way up month by month. If you do have three months, work your way to six months of expenses. Squirrel away until you reach your goal.
We hope you have completed the 30 day safari and are ready to embark on the Caribbean Adventure to see how quickly your money can slip away if you don’t keep track of it. Use the “TYS” tool (Track Your Spending) and the “KLL” tool (Keep it, Limit it, Lose it) as a means for you to identify areas of needless spending.
